CAL Property Management is headed by Carrie Appling, who has been actively working in real estate for almost three decades.

Carrie started working with the family business in motels at the age of 19. After spending 17 years in the motel business, she shifted her focus, starting CAL Property Management in 2003. She has since worked with apartments, single family dwellings, commercial, industrial, and multi-office space properties. Born and raised in Salinas, CA, Carrie has been fortunate to watch the real estate market in this area first-hand and the changes that have occurred.

CAL Property Management are members of HomeRentals.net, the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM) and the California Apartment Association.

Carrie Appling
Name: Carrie Appling
Title: President/Broker/Owner
Duties: Lead the company and Operations Management
Goal: To provide property management services that meet the needs of our owners while maximizing their investments and providing tenants with well maintained rentals.

Carrie was born and raised in Salinas, CA and is the third generation in her family to go into Real Estate, while her family was in development and acquisitions, she focused on management. To say she has grown up in the industry with a focus primarily on the Monterey County Real Estate, is an understatement. Carrie has 28 years experience in Property Management and a 17 year background in Motel Management. She is active in her community and has a been an active member in the local Chapter of NARPM-National Association of Residential Property Managers and was the local chapter president for 2 years. Carrie also holds a membership in CAA-California Apartment Association.

After Hours: In her personal time Carrie loves playing with her black lab Maxxy and taking long walks on the beach with her husband Mark. Her favorite past time is watching her daughter Drew Dance and perform. Check out a picture of Maxxy on our about page or on Facebook. Carrie is also a big Raider Fan following in her Dad’s footsteps and enjoys watching football and teasing Susan when the Niners lose!
Susan Correa
Name: Susan Correa
Title: Licensed Property Manager
Duties: Reviewing leases with new tenants, handling Maintenance issues and authorizations, Processing Applicants and interacting with Property Owners and Tenants. Overall office management.
Experience: 11 years experience with CAL Property Management.
Goal: To provide property management services that meet the needs of our owners while maximizing their investments and providing tenants with well maintained rentals.
After Hours: Susan is a dedicated Mom and Grandmother she enjoyes time with her family the most. She is an avid SF 49er fan but her true love lies with baseball and watching the SF Giants play.
Phil Landis
Name: Phil Landis
Title: Bookkeeper
Duties: Handles all accounting associated with the properties and interacts with Owners.
Experience: 10 years with CAL Property Management and 16 years in Motel Management.
After Hours: First and foremost Phil is a devoted husband to his wonderful wife Judy and loves spending time with his children and his six grandchildren. Phil is dedicated to his faith and enjoys being very involved in his church. Phil also loves everything trains!
